What Does It Take to Be the Best Wrinkle Cream?

So it seems even the best anti wrinkle cream on the market can’t solve the problem of facial staining, a condition known as Melasma. Ever heard of it? If you haven’t, that’s OK; many people have the condition, but few people know the name for it.

Melasma is abnormal discoloration of the skin causing an appearance of staining and it’s often associated with pregnancy or with the use of oral contraceptives; however, there are other causes, too.

Maybe you have been dealing with this challenge in your life to some degree.

But, let’s back thing up a little…

Now, I’m sure, by now, you have already seen the pictures and videos that are all over the Internet from companies claiming to have the best anti wrinkle cream going. It’s the skin care solution being used by all the stars in Hollywood that stops face wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes in under two minutes.

Many of the best and brightest stars claim this solution has literally saved their careers. As far as the best anti wrinkle cream out there goes, it seems the results from this miracle product are nothing short of spectacular and Dr. Oz has truly given us all a gift by bringing this wrinkle remover solution to the world’s attention.

You see, having access to the very best anti wrinkle cream is so important because when it comes to trying feel good about yourself when you start your day, it seems there is nothing more frustrating and stressful than looking in the mirror in the morning only to see years of stress and hardship staring back at you.

How demoralizing is that?!? It just doesn’t seem fair.

As we age, we tend to grow in wisdom as well as years and we start to become stronger at solving problems; we get better at “life”, so to speak. Then just when we think we’re starting to get it figured out, we are betrayed by our own reflection.

However, under eye wrinkles and dark circles are only half the problem. There is no question that a huge percentage of us get wrinkles under eyes, not to mention dark baggy circles, but many of us also fall victim to discoloration or facial staining for a variety of reasons. At that is less than pleasant.

It seems, these two things together are the ultimate punishment for a life filled with stress and hardship.

That’s why even the best anti wrinkle cream is just not enough. That’s why we need a comprehensive solution to solve both issues. We need our skin to be firm and supple, but we also want it to be bright and even looking in its tone.

I don’t know about you, but all the before and after pictures that show tighter, firmer skin that is still blotchy and patchy really don’t make me feel all that excited.

I just know that if I’m going to spend that kind of money, I really do want the fountain of youth because when I was young, my skin was firm, for sure, but it was also bright with a wonderfully, consistent tone.

Maybe you think I am asking for too much

Well, as it turns out, I am definitely not because Jouvé, a revolutionary new skin care line released in December 2015, has a two-product line for dealing with BOTH of these major aging-related issues of the skin.

In fact, JOUVÉ has a very high-quality wrinkle and dark circle reducer called INSTANT TIGHTENING & RESTORING SERUM and it’s a rock star product all on its own. In my opinion, it’s the very best anti wrinkle cream that money can buy, but I’m not saying that because I’m biased.

Rather, I’m saying it because the Ariix, the company that manufactures Jouvé, has gone out of its way to solve all the normal hassles with wrinkle creams such as dangerous preservatives, poor manufacturing practices and poor quality sources for the ingredients.

And if that’s not enough, Jouvé also has a DARK SPOT CORRECTOR AND BRIGHTENING CREAM to deal with Melasma or facial staining and discoloration. These two products, both from the same complimentary line, are absolutely unstoppable when used together.

So, if you want the very best anti wrinkle cream on the market combined with a real answer to the other major skin aging issue that affects so many people today, then look no further than Jouvé.

WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT ANTI-AGING TREATMENTS MAY BE HARMING YOUR SKIN & YOUR BODY

It’s time to take a second look at 25 commonly-used wrinkle-reduction techniques and treatments.

Solution #1: Avoid the Sun

The “Facekini”, invented 4 years ago in China, was designed to protect the wearer from harmful UV rays among other things. Of course, there are many other ways to avoid the sun, but I would much rather have as much fun as I possibly can soaking up plenty of Vitamin D when I head outdoors.

Solution #2: Wear Sunscreen

Some sources say sunscreen protects from harmful UV radiation AND it also prevents wrinkles, but all those harsh chemicals and metals are highly toxic to the skin, the largest organ in the body. They create an abundance of wrinkle-producing free radicals all leading to plenty of free radical damage, a.k.a. oxidative stress.

Solution #3: Don’t Smoke

I couldn’t agree more…’nuff said. You will never find a faster path to unsightly wrinkles than through the severe free radical damage caused by smoking or chewing tobacco.

Solution #4: Don’t Squint – Get Reading Glasses

If only reading was the main cause of squinting. Based on all the ‘meme’ photos on Facebook and Instagram, the main causes of squinting have little to do with needing reading glasses. That said, if you need ’em… get ‘em!

Solution #5: Get Enough Sleep

Sleep-deprivation is a bad idea on so many levels. If you have trouble sleeping, then conquering this challenge as soon as possible should move to the very top of your priority list and it should stay there. Some sources say sleep deprivation is as bad as smoking, when it comes to free radical damage… and that’s a recipe for… you guessed it… wrinkles.

Solution #6: Sleep on Your Back

While it is more than possible to get sleep lines from ‘smushing’ your face into a pillow night after night, I doubt most of us can control how we toss and turn in our sleep. Some dreams are just too good to stay still.

Solution #7: Don’t Over-Wash Your Face

According to a Women’s World article, there are 12 ways to wash your face –incorrectly. Who knew?!? Needless to say, this will lead to skin damage, drying, stripping of natural oils, etc. Trouble is that some of us don’t have time to do it properly and we can’t afford all the fancy tools to get the job done right.

Solution #8: Eat Foods with Omega-3 Fatty Acids

The Omega 3 Fatty Acids, found in high levels in wild, cold-water fish are DHA & EPA. ALA is found in plants and if your body doesn’t get enough EPA/DHA, the liver does have the ability to convert some ALA into the much preferred DHA/EPA. CLA is plentiful in grass-fed, unprocessed beef. Grass-fed dairy products must be unpasteurized, cold-processed & not exposed to acid for them to be useful. Unfortunately, this quality of beef/dairy is hard to come by in most regions.

Solution #9: Trade Coffee for Cocoa

Again, that is only true, if the cocoa or chocolate is raw, cold-processed or unprocessed, non-irradiated and not exposed to acids. It also can’t be filled with fillers, sweeteners, preservatives and flavorings. Good quality cocoa and chocolate products still containing healthy flavonols, such as catechins and epicatechins are hard to come by for most folks. Nancy Drew, where are you when we need you?

Solution #10: Eat More Soy

Soy, of course, does have some health benefits when eaten fresh and raw, as in the case of fresh Edamame beans, but alas, very few soy products are sold in this original form. Most soy products are highly processed (tofu, soy sauce, TVP, etc.), heat treated, irradiated, exposed to acids and genetically-modified. In fact, soy is one of the top 7 GMO crops, along with cottonseed, sugar beets, canola, corn, alfalfa and papaya. Without its living enzymes, soy can be destructive indeed.

Solution #11: Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

Any fiber and antioxidant containing food will help with premature aging (wrinkles). In fact, that’s the very definition of free radical reduction. Free radical damage is also known as oxidation; therefore antioxidants are the main solution. The trouble is unless those fruits and vegetables are fresh, raw, organic, grown in good soil, unprocessed, non-irradiated, not transported across the globe (locally-grown)… I think you get the point… then they don’t contain too many antioxidants any longer.

Solution #12: Avoid Alcohol

This issue is also all about free radicals. Alcohol will dry out your skin very fast, not to mention exploding capillaries located near the surface of the skin. If your goal is wrinkle-reduction, then “I don’t drink!” really must become your mantra. Sadly, we all love to indulge from time to time.

Solution #13: Use Moisturizer

A no brainer, of course. If you want moist, supple skin, use moisturizer; however, the problem always seems to be toxic, over-processed, unnatural ingredients that often do more harm than good. And buying the most expensive product does not always guarantee the health of your skin will be supported and protected.

Solution #14: Alpha-Hydroxyl Acids

Home-remedies are very time consuming to prepare and you have to make sure the ingredients you are using are good quality, fresh, raw, non-gmo, non-irradiated, etc. Store bought versions may be good, but it probably takes a degree in chemistry to understand what’s happening at the cellular level to see if the results are as intended. Like anything, what ‘else’ is in the bottle?

Solution #15: Retinoids

Best to stick with natural sources of Vitamin A, because many creams and other forms of this substance can lead to toxic levels in the blood. Getting Vitamin A naturally (through food sources) does not lead to toxic blood levels because absorption and conversion to needed compounds are controlled by the intricate hormone system in the body, but when we add it topically or orally, we render the Endocrine system helpless.

Solution #16: Vitamin C

Again, it comes down to sources, quality and amounts. Just because it says Vitamin C on the bottle, does not mean it is not harming your sensitive skin. One source says, “Because it is unstable and difficult to deliver into the dermis in the optimum dosage, research is being directed to find stable compounds of Vitamin C and newer methods of delivery of Vitamin C into the dermis.”

Solution #17: Idebenone

As a skin product, this funny sounding ingredient is like CoEnzyme Q10 on steroids, a good thing by most accounts. There is no question the mitochondria needs all the help it can get in neutralizing all those nasty free radicals. However, not to sound like a broken record, but, what are the sources, how was it processed and what are the quality standards of the version you are using?

Solution #18: Growth Factors

So, growth factors are supposed to help the skin because they may stimulate and promote blood vessel growth. This process is known as angiogenesis. The problem comes in if a person already has cancerous cells growing, as most of us do. You see, angiogenesis promotes the growth of all blood vessels including the cancerous ones and since cancer is one the top 2 leading causes of death in the US, it seems best not to help it along. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want is to help them grow.

Solution #19: Peptides

The main function of this latest discovery in skincare is to increase bilirubin and iron in the blood to get rid of under eye circles amongst other things. Now, for most of us, the idea of reducing inflammation and dark coloring under the eye is a good thing. But, it’s tough to know what form you are getting. For example, how many peptide units are linked together in the version you have purchased – 2, 5, 8, 12 or some other amount? And, is it a neuropeptide or a copper peptide? Again, it takes a lot of research to know what you are getting and how it will or won’t work for you. We are all so different.

Solution #20: Estrogen Supplements

So, it’s well-known that after menopause, when estrogen production slows in a woman’s body, skin can take a beating. For this reason, many women take estrogen supplements. However, at the risk of repeating myself, what are the sources of the ingredients in your supplements; how have they been processed and what are the quality control standards of the company who made them? The last thing you want is to get the opposite effect to what you intended.

Solution #21: Botox

We’ve all seen movies that mock the use of Botox as an anti-aging tool for women. Most of the images are pretty comical. Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m not prepared to take the risk of a treatment gone badly. I don’t want to end up with eyelid droop, cock-eyed eyebrows, crooked smile, dry eye or excessive tears. And those don’t even touch on the really bad possible side effects such as muscle weakness, vision problems, loss of bladder control, trouble with speech & swallowing, & worst of all, breathing.

Solution #22: Laser/Light Resurfacing

Well, the results of a procedure done well are beautiful, to say the least, but are the risks really worth it? They include itching, swelling, redness, acne, infection, changes in skin color, scarring, turning of the eye lid (ectropion) and blistering.

You’d best make sure your doctor is a good one and that all precautions have been taken into consideration. This is definitely not the time for a cavalier attitude.

Solution #23: Chemical Peels

And the side effects are… redness (erythema), color changes in the skin, crusting, scaling, swelling around the eyes, scarring, allergic reaction to the chemical, infection and increased sensitivity to sunlight.  Yeesh!!! Once again, if your treatment is successful, the results can be amazing, but are the risks worth it… and can you afford it?

Solution #24: Dermabrasion

They say you have to suffer to be beautiful and in the case of Tori Spelling, that is definitely a true statement… ouch! Of course, for her, the procedure worked out, but I have great concerns about any treatment for the skin that involves the idea of abrasion. It is a type of surgery, after all, and with any surgery comes risk. Possible longer-term side effects include infections, undesirable color, keloids and hypertrophic scars. Yikes!

Solution #25: Wrinkle Fillers

Fillers add volume to the face, usually by filling in wrinkles and lines, and sometimes by plumping up areas of the face that have lost fat pads (such as the cheeks, under-eye area and temples), causing the skin to sink and sag. Assuming you trust the ingredient sources, manufacturing practices and quality control standards of the company who made the products you want to use, the big drawback to this treatment, like many of the spa treatments, is the cost and even after you drop a wad of cash, the procedure needs to be repeated in a couple of years. It doesn’t last. And of course, any invasive procedure comes with normal risks associated with surgical procedures.
